Fall in love with the 'Not interested' button
The most relieving thing you can do is make your social media work for you, not AGAINST you.
I always say, social media is a blessing and a curse at the same time. You can learn new things, get inspired by your interests, but you can also fall victim to doomscrolling and see things that have a negative effect on you.
It can make you feel more down or bad about yourself. There was a time when every time I opened it, I was scrolling through negative things, the news that stressed me out, and unmotivated videos that dragged me down.
My feed was full of people I followed without even knowing why, since their content isn’t even aligned with me.
And when I had no desire to go on anything anymore, I mean, who wants to see something that drags them down?
So the ‘Not interested’ button became my favorite thing to control this; I was tired of going on social media and seeing things that I didn’t like. It’s the best thing you can do.
You should make it work for you, only filling it with the interests you have. It’s essential to get inspired instead of being dragged down by what you see. It keeps you focused on what you want to achieve, look at, or something entertaining.
It is calming for you when you aren’t constantly comparing yourself to other people whose lifestyles could trigger this. I started doing this. Every time I see something I don’t want to, I start to click the button.

Now, when I go onto any social media, which I like to limit time on anyway, I am filled with things that inspire me, teach me anything, or are entertaining for me. Of course, I sometimes have things on there I don’t enjoy, but I just click the ‘Not interested’ button and the problem is solved.
As much as you work on creating a physical space you feel comfortable and at peace in, it’s also important to have the same in your digital space. Don’t have something on your feed, just for the sake of scrolling.
Your mental health and peace are important; you might not notice this immediately, but these things can affect it. Constant negativity all around us isn’t something that will be a lovely thing. It is tearing your mood and mental health down, little by little.
So, do this in your digital space as well. Everything you are not interested in or makes you feel negatively in any sense, just fall in love with the ‘Not interested’ button, and it will make you feel a bit calmer.
I became calmer and more peaceful when I worked on my physical and digital space, using the ‘Not interesting’ button to make social media work for me and not against me.
