Take a break when you need one without feeling bad
I also kind of use this post since I am struggling with some health issues and diagnoses, which takes weeks for all the appointments to be made. So, it might go a bit quieter over here with daily involvement with notes, I am sure a few of you realized. I try my best, but since it’s an issue that could be my Central nervous system or some brain issues in general, my movements are sometimes not there. So, writing sometimes either hurts or is not possible on certain days.
By the way, I am not saying this to have pity, I just want to be upfront about why it might be a bit later when I respond or post notes here.
But I keep trying to post my publication post once a week, but today’s one is inspired by my situation. Because I feel like we sometimes take ‘taking a break’ too lightly and think we don’t need one.
I am all about balance and living a slow life, but still working towards my goals. But now I am forced again to take it even slower because of this health situation.
If you are interested in some natural health tips for migraines/headaches or in general, I can do a post because I am a pro since I deal with this a lot. Leave a comment, I am glad to write one.
1. Don’t feel guilty
Easier said than done for all my overachieving and ambitious people, I get it. Trust me, I do. But if you are sick or healthy, you need a break.
It actually helps your brain, since it can take a break before you continue with what you are doing.
Or even take a longer break when you finish a project, work, studying, writing, whatever you do, honestly—even chores.
2. Find something cozy to do or watch
I think this is so important because it can help you improve your ability to rest, in case it is hard for you to take a break.
I have a post on cosy hobbies you can try, and my cosy movies and series, if you want to check that out.
It takes your mind off the guilt you may feel to rest instead of doing something prudictive and you could get inspired by them too.
3. When you take a break, you will achieve more
When you do something, constantly on the go, you move towards burnout or a health concern in general. Taking a break here and having a balance is important to achieve more.
It prevents brain fog, or something worse, like what was mentioned above. It’s important to manage stress. As the saying also goes: Work smarter, not harder.
I am a huge person for: Balance. Taking breaks because trust me, I didn’t do that quite a lot, and it backfired immensely, so I’d like to help people and remind them how important something like this is.
I apologize if there are a few mistakes in here. I did my best with proofreading and editing, but sometimes my brain doesn’t catch mistakes at the moment.
This post is a bit shorter than usual. I am glad I was able to write this one. Maybe you can expect a few more shorter post the next few weeks, but I am doing my best every week!
xx
Lena
